Aida Haryani Salamon

Aida graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Honours) from the University of Sheffield in 2000 and holds an LL.M specializing in Intellectual Property (including Information Technology and Internet Law) with merits from Queen Mary, University of London in 2001. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 2002 and is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.

She was called to the Malaysian Bar in June 2006 and worked in the firm of Messrs Kadir, Andri & Partners from July 2006 to December 2010. She joined Messrs Brendan Siva on 1.1.2011 as a Senior Associate.

Aida is involved in commercial, libel, securities regulation, probate and administration, taxation, intellectual property and corporate litigation. Some cases that Aida has been involved in in an advisory or representative capacity include:

Representing a local utility company in an advisory capacity with regard to matters pertaining to the Windfall Profit Levy (Electricity) Order 2008
Representing a local plantation company in its appeal to the Special Commissioners of Income Tax
Representing a local telecommunication company in an advisory capacity on queries with regard to stamp duty pursuant to the amendment made to the Stamp Act 1949
Representing a local entity in a claim for infringement of copyright, confidential information, false representation and/or passing off
Representing a local oil and gas company in its application for judicial review against a decision made by a port authority
